A. Abdikarimov confirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening practical cooperation with the OECD and called on the states of the region to jointly develop and implement effective projects within the framework of the Eurasia Competitiveness Program.
The OECD Eurasia Week 2023 was held from December 12 to 14 in Paris at the headquarters of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Kazakhstan’s delegation at the event was headed by Vice Minister of National Economy Abzal Abdikarimov, reported press center of Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Delegates discussed sustainable economic growth, improving the legal environment for business development, public administration, low-carbon development and trade and transport cooperation.
In his speech, A. Abdikarimov confirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening practical cooperation with the OECD and called on the states of the region to jointly develop and implement effective projects within the framework of the Eurasia Competitiveness Program.
He also spoke about the most important reforms aimed at continuously improving the country’s business environment and investment climate, as well as the government’s efforts to develop a low-carbon economy.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the development of relations between Kazakhstan and the OECD. We have joined more than 40 legal instruments and working bodies of the Organization, signed a joint Action Plan until 2025, the implementation of which will help us to introduce the high standards of the OECD in our economy and public administration system. This will provide significant support for further implementation of reforms in Kazakhstan, said Vice-Minister of National Economy.
In turn, OECD Secretary General Mathias Korman reported on the intention to continue cooperation with partners in the region both bilaterally and through the Eurasia Competitiveness Program. According to him, Eurasia is a key region for global interaction of the OECD.
